Stuart Buy is a guide and photographer working in the Western Sector of the Sabi Sands. He was nine when he told his parents he wanted to be a ranger, and in 2016 he began guiding to make it real. Madikwe came first, and it was there that his passion for photography took hold.
He moved to the Sabi Sands in 2017 and has never looked back, though he still slips off to Kruger National Park whenever he can. His images favour patience over drama: leopards at rest on a fallen log, young lions holding the camera's gaze, cheetahs on termite mounds, all in soft, muted light.
